Pancreatic cancer is difficult to diagnose at early stage. Unfortunately, often the most obvious symptoms are detected at an advanced stage of the disease. A team from the Van Andel Research Institute (Gran Rapids, Michigan-USA) is developing a new bloo dtest that, with an approach coined with the current blood test, should greatly improve the early detection of this cancer. This joint approach, the researchers say, would have a detection rate of this type of cancer of 70% with a 5% false-positive.
